Peter Phillips of Louth Nature Trust visited 3 National Schools that are in close proximity to the Little Tern Conservation Project, The Haven, Baltray. Peter spoke to the 4th classes in Termonfeckin N.S., Cartown N.S. and Callystown N.S. about the project. With sponsorship from Coca-Cola in Drogheda (Beverage Business Solutions), a competition was set up for the best Little Tern poster and there was a great response from the pupils in the 3 schools. We have a separate gallery page for each school, Callystown, Cartown and Termonfeckin and you can see all the posters that were submitted.
Peter and Áine Walsh of Beverage Business Solutions presented the prizes to the worthy winners. Congratulations to the winners and well done to all the entrants. Also a big thank you to the schools involved for allowing Peter to speak to the classes.
The Little Tern Conservation Project is a very important project within the county. It is important to promote awareness of the project and encourage support from the community. It is a great example of what ordinary people can do when they group together to make a difference.
Overall Winner: Suzanne Evers, Cartown National School.
Termonfeckin National School Winner: Louise McCleery.
Callystown National School Winner: Greta Levins.
