A benefit concert was held in the Spirit Store, Dundalk to raise funds for the Little Tern Conservation Project at Baltray on Sunday 6th July 2008. There was a great turn out for this and a fantastic line up of musicians which included:
French Fiddles with Cathal Johnson on vocals, guitar and harmonica, Isabel Nic Chuireann on guitar and piano accordion, Jacque Faure on clarinet and sax, Andrew Grafton on guitar and vocals and Lisa Butler on violin. French Fiddles were joined by Patrick Martin playing uilleann pipes and flute.
Breffni Holohan playing guitar and Michael Holohan on keyboard.
Mary McCague on violin and Ciaran Rosney on guitar and vocals.
See details of the performers on our News & Events page.
Mark Dearey of the Spirit Store put up a hamper of beer to be raffled. Terence McKenna recorded the concert and Cathal Johnson organised and managed the event.
A big thank you is due to all concerned, it was a really fantastic night.
And shhh, just between ourselves, I hear rumours that Cathal may be organising a gig next month in the Drogheda area - think beautiful gardens, great music, mighty craic, sunshine galore (oh well, it's the only thing we can't guarantee). Watch out for an update on this!
