We are seeing up to 34 little terns active in the site, all of which were feeding in the estuary and catching large sand eels (likely on the incoming tide), overflying the colony and displaying, behaviour typical of preparations to pair and next. In previous days birds were seen flying eastwards to sea and catching small sprat/fry.

We badly need volunteers to help with wardening while we continue to look for some funding to cover an ecologist and night wardening. We have also been beset by several kids who have vandalised the cordon.
