All is going well in Baltray.  Our youngest chicks are thriving and flapping their tiny wings, even though they are only four days old.  Our volunteers are happy to continue wardening for another week to give these young chicks a decent chance of fledging.  I watched an adult and juvenile land today and the adult promptly poked at the young bird until it took off again, it obviously needed more flying practice.  We will leave the fence in place until all chicks are fledged and are no longer using the nesting enclosure.
