Marked a new nest today, number 45.  It has 1 egg so far but the tern was not sitting on the nest so it may not be finished laying.  This is likely one of the birds that lost a nest in the spring tides last week.

1 chick hatched today bringing the chick count to 75 with 21 eggs unhatched.

The gulls were flying low over the enclosure today and the wardens were kept busy chasing them off.  It’s hard to tell if they are surveying the area for chicks or just lazily gliding over on their way to the water edge.
