Thanks to everyone who showed up at Clogherhead and Baltray for our Heritage Week events last week.

At Clogherhead about 55 people were able to get several views of up to five harbour porpoises surfacing around the headland. We were also able to watch the antics of the grey seals, terns, auks and gulls. At one point (around 4pm) large numbers of gannets were observed diving near the horizon, and subsequently tow, then a single surfacing animal was observed, too distant to be sure of what they might be, but on size a whale species seems more likely – possible minke whales.
